CORROSIVE ELEMENTS – Cut the Serpent’s Head

Hailing from the suburbs of Paris, CORROSIVE ELEMENTS is a force to be reckoned with in the world of heavy music. Born in 2005 with a singular mission: to craft catchy death metal tunes, the band quickly evolved their sound, infusing it with some frenzied thrash riffing and raw intensity of hardcore punk. This unique fusion earned them a solid reputation for their uncompromising live performances and feel-good attitude.

True defenders of the underground ethos, CORROSIVE ELEMENTS made their path with a first EP in 2008, a debut album in 2015 and a scorching live album in 2016. Having graced the stage at renowned festivals like Hellfest’s Altar Stage and sharing the spotlight with metal legends such as Death Angel, Loudblast, Darkane, Sinister, and more, the quintet took a great amount of time refining the new tunes for their highly anticipated 2024 album release.

The next record is a ten-track collection of hard-hitting tunes, designed for a more direct and dynamic approach. “Cut the Serpent’s Head” was written collectively by the band in the rehearsal space, an old school method that made the music more immediate and impactful. With large influences ranging from Thrash legends like Slayer, (old) Sepultura and Exodus, Death Metal rumble in the tradition of Entombed, Obituary, Carcass, Bolt Thrower and Napalm Death, with an addition of some primal energy derived from Hardcore Punk, the band is now ready to unleash this new beast of an album.

Lyrically, “Cut the Serpent’s Head” is a cynical commentary on the fate of mankind, it’s race to nonsense and the loss of moral values. A warning against the hegemony of organized religion, crooked politics, decaying societies, and the rise of social injustice.

Cut the Serpent’s Head was self-recorded by the band in a true DIY fashion, mixed at Heldscalla Studios by Raphaël Henry (Mercyless, Skelethal, Ritualization, Venefixion,…) and mastered by Neb Xort at Drudenhaus Studios (Trepalium, Seth, Alcest, …) resulting in a savage sonic assault.
